Ebay & Boots Haul!

So I've been a bit naughty again and have a little haul for you. Here's the goodies that I purchased:

I love this little Hamsa hand bracelet which I got for a steal from ebay. I bought it from THIS seller and you can choose from a variety of string designs. It was only £1 :)

I also picked up my very own Links Of London Skull Friendship bracelet. This was from a one off seller.

Here's what they look like on! :)

I also bought this cute little skull bracelet from Freckles in the Sun. You can find it HERE.

I've been popping into my local boots for weeks trying to find the Youtube guru Pixiwoo's Real Techniques makeup brushes and today they finally had them in. I picked up the stippling brush. You can find the whole collection online HERE.

While I was in Boots I saw that they had a 2 for £10 Revlon lip and nail offer on so I picked up two more of the ColourStay Ultimate Liquid Lipsticks. I got the shades 050 Top Tomato and 075 Nude.

Here's what they look like on. This is Nude:

And this is Top Tomato.

The nude one applies okay. I never like the application of these lipsticks but they last for hours and hours so I ignore that gripe about them... but I found Top Tomato to be even more tricky than normal to apply but I do like the colour. They are both very dry and sticky when they are applied but with a swipe of lipbalm over the top they are just peachy.

I also got from ebay 24 nailvarnish art pens but I forgot to take a picture. I bought them from THIS seller though. The boyf was victim to my first practice with them...
Sorry about the blurry picture!

February Favourites

Here are my favourite bits and bobs from the month of February.

1. The Body Shop Raspberry Ripple Bath and Shower Gel.
This smells AABBSOLUTELY ahumazing and a little goes a long way!

2. Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner.
I got mine on offer at Boots recently and again this product smells absolutely fantastic. Not sure about the consistency of the product, its a bit gross looking but it seems to do the trick. It's my favourite purely because of the smell though at the moment. I've not used it enough to see whether it does what it claims to do.

3. Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. I received this as a Christmas gift from my other half's parents. I can honestly say that this cleanser is THE best that I have ever used. It takes every scrap of makeup off, even the ultimately waterproof mascara base that I use (which no other cleanser has even budged without severe scrubbing in the past!) I recommend this fully, 100% and will definitely be repurchasing once I run out.

4. Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation.
I ran out of the regular Healthy Mix Foundation recently and decided to go for this one instead of repurchasing (although, the regular foundation is ace, too). Really nice foundation. Gives reasonable coverage but looks natural. Very buildable, smells nice - not too strong. Long lasting and wears well. No gripes.

5. Stella by Stella McCartney fragrance. I recently ran out of my favourite Calvin Klein Euphoria so have been reaching for this one a lot more. Actually beginning to really enjoy the smell as I wasn't too keen at first but it seems to sit really well on my skin and is long lasting. And the bottle is pretty as hell.

6. Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara. I got this free with this month's Elle magazine and it's actually pretty good. It doesn't beat my ultimate favourite of Benefit Bad Gal Lash, but it's a damn good alternative. I'd recommend going out and buying this Elle (it has Alexa Chung on the front) if you can still get it in your local newsagents. I don't think I'd buy it for full price (£10) but for a freebie in a magazine, it's a great back up for when your current mascara runs out.

7. Bargain Dotting Tools. I bought these from ebay for the grand sum of 99p. They took an age to arrive from Hong Kong but they were super cheap and are letting me play around with different nail designs and I love them.

8. Stacking Jewellery. I've really gotten into stacking my bracelets this month and I've been wanting to do it for ages so I decided to treat myself to a new Pandora bracelet to add to my wrist candy! Love it!

O.O.T.D. 25/01/12 and massive burgers!

What I wore for a meal out with friends/what I was going to wear for Britain's Got Talent!

Ash Tundra Boots
Dorothy Perkins Scarf
Topshop Seven-Eighths Skinny Jeans
Topshop Shirt

So, this photo was taken just before I was heading out to got to see the Britain's Got Talent auditions last week in Blackpool. Unfortunately, by the time my friends and I had finished work, the queue was so long that we, along with a couple hundred other people couldn't get in because there weren't enough seats. So we went home early, boo!

Faux fur and pleather jacket from Topshop.
Alexander Wang Rocco bag.

So I decided to wear the same outfit for a meal out with the boyf and friends.

Urban Outfitters double finger cross ring.
Vintage thumb ring.
Finger tip rings from Fashionology.nl
Alexander McQueen double skull ring.
DKNY bracelet watch.
Model's Own Nude Beige nailvarnish.

We went to an American style Diner which was super yummy.

The feast!

I had 8oz burger with cream cheese and cucumber. I think it was called "The Wall Street" burger.

Followed by a scoop or two of a minty icecream sundae.

My friend Jen and I enjoying the night.

Just a side note:

I had my first Lindt chocolate bunny earlier in the day. My lovely boyf sneakily bought one on the way out of a shop without me noticing. Yum yum!

And also, my Illamasqua order came! Eeeek, how exciting!

Oopsie!

...may have made a cheeky Illamasqua order by accident whilst looking for Birthday presents for a friend. Everything was in the sale though so that's alright, yeah?

Project "Use-Up-All-The-Crap-I-Have-Before-Buying-Any-More!"

Welcome to my new project.
I named it..
Project "Use-Up-All-The-Crap-I-Have-Before-Buying-Any-More!"

I have piles of unused cosmetics sitting round my room ranging from makeup, hair spray, face wash, cleansers, dry shampoos, leave in conditioners and more. It's getting to the point where I just look at it and think, maybe I should use these up before going to the shop and buying another product that does exactly the same thing.

So that's what I've decided to do. I'm going to try and get down to one product per need...because, let's face it, I don't need three dry shampoos, three hairsprays, countless concealers and mascaras, numerous face washes and cleansers and god knows what else stashed away in my drawers.

These are a few of the items I'm going to be actively using to use them up and de-clog my room. (I can't just throw them away! That's just out of the question!)

This is what's on my list so far...are you sitting comfortably?:

Tigi 'Let It Be' Cherry Almond Leave-In Conditioner - 90% Full
Toni & Guy Rapid Response Leave-In Conditioner. - 50% Full

Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Light Diffusing Concealer. - Guessing half full.
Bourjois Coupe de Theatre 2 in 1 Mascara. - Brand new.
Garnier Eye Roll-on. - 80% Full

Weeeeeouw, that's a lot! Going through it like that and seeing how much product I've actually used and how many I've bought makes it even worse. Definitely going to try and use up some of my stash in the next few months, perhaps even re-discover some of my beauty must-haves.

Wish me luck! I've tried this before, last year or so, and did manage to use some stuff up, so anyone who wants to join me in this project then good luck to you, too! (Not doubting for a second that any of you are makeup hoarders like me!)

See you soon!

O.O.T.D and Topshop Sale Haul

So here's the finished result of dying over my stripped hair. I know it pretty much looks the same as before I even stripped it now but I can tell the difference. The tone is very much brown as opposed to the previous purple. Check out my previous posts to read a review of the colour corrector that I used to strip my hair. I then dyed over it with a Garnier Nutrisse dye this morning.

The makeup I'm wearing (not that you can particularly see) is from the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette which I received in the post a couple of days ago. I absolutely love it. If you have the Naked 1 palette you don't necessarily need the Naked 2, however, I'd definitely recommend it to those who don't...and those who do! I have on Clinique Brush On Cream Liner and bucket loads of Benefit Bad Gal Lash black, as well.

Here's a quick Outfit Of The Day from today.

I'm wearing black leggings from Topshop, grey zip up hoodie from House Of Holland, denim and shearling jacket from Topshop, scarf from Dorothy Perkins, bag from Alexander Wang, boots from Ash.

I went to have a look at the Topshop sales I'm my local Topshop as I hadn't had chance to go in since before Christmas. I picked up a load of goodies which I wasn't expecting to find! First and foremost my favourite item that I picked up was this faux leather and fur bomber jacket which was £35 reduced from £78. It looks quite gorilla chic on the hanger but I absolutely love it on. Think I will be wearing this every day for the rest of my life...

The second item I snagged off the sale rail was this faux fur stole. I've been after one of these for months but never really found one that I really liked. This was the only one on the rail and is super luxurious. I'll be wearing it with a simple black outfit I think, I can't wait to wear it. This was £20 reduced from £60ish. (The original price in £ has come off but it says €68 and $90)

The third item I grabbed was this faux fur, bottle green jacket. I've been looking at this for a while, too when it was full price but couldn't justify spending £85 on it. The fur is short and, again, luxurious feeling. My mum loves this one too so we will be sharing this one, I think! I paid £40 reduced from £85.

Lastly I picked up some bargain skinny jeans and another pair of the thick leggings that I bought the other day in Liverpool, but in navy instead of black. The skinny jeans are the Leigh Super Soft Skinny jeans in a dark navy/indigo. They were £20 reduced from £38. Super essential basic jeans are a must if you see them in the sale and these fit like a glove, I love them! The navy thick leggings were reduced to £10 from £18.

So, that's everything I purchased. I also spent 25% less than the prices listed as I work for Arcadia, so that's another bonus! I'm very happy with my goodies and wasn't expecting to go out and find so many quality things in the sales, especially this late on. Make sure you go out and have another look in your local Topshop because I'm guessing that they've added new lines to their sale, some of which yu may have had your eye on, like me! I hope you all find some bargains if you decide to go looking! Right, definitely not spending any more!....definitely!.....uh....maybe. Haha. Have a lovely weekend, followers. Is anyone up to anything interesting? Neeny x

Product Rave: Benefit BAD Gal Lash Mascara, BAD Gal Liner Waterproof & Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner

Hi Ladies!
A quick product rave today for two of my favourite products ever - Benefit BAD gal lash mascara and Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner.

I was shopping for Christmas gifts earlier this month and saw this Benefit "Double The Bad" gift set in Boots for £20.50. For this you get the full size (8.5g 0.3oz) BAD gal lash mascara and full size (1.2g 0.04oz) BAD gal liner waterproof. With BAD gal lash being my absolute favourite mascara ever I jumped at it and bought it for myself ('Santa' wrapped it up for me for Christmas, though!)

I've never used the BAD gal liner before, but being such a fan of the BAD gal lash I assumed that it would be fantastic.

Here's a picture of my lashes without anything on them. They have been curled with eyelash curlers. I'm also wearing the BAD gal liner on the water line and lower lash line.

And here is my eye with one (THIN!) coat of Maybelline Great Lash mascara (to hold my curl - I have to do this before applying any mascara as my eyelashes are poker straight and every mascara I've tried instantly flops them back down!) Anyway, one thin coat of Maybelline and one generous coat of BAD gal lash.

And a view from the side.

As you can see, the mascara works absolutely brilliantly, hence why it is my absolute favourite eye product ever. The formula is more on the drier side compared to some other mascara formulas, which I like as my lashes droop very easily, as mentioned before, if my mascara is too wet.
The product is very black which is, again, a must for me with mascaras. I like my lashes to be bold, long and thick and black, and this mascara ticks all the boxes.
If you're not a fan of slightly clumpy lashes though, this may not be the mascara for you as it is very thickening and after a couple of coats you tend to see a bit of clumpiness through the mid sections. I personally like to load my mascara on and after just one coat of this, I'm quite happy. Though, I normally would apply two coats to make my lashes even longer and thicker.
The mascara wand is a fiber wand which is absolutely massive. This is brilliant for me as I can coat pretty much every lash in one or two wiggles, however some people may find the brush too big to manage, especially if you want to define the lashes in the inner and outer corners neatly.
The mascara stays on all day without my lashes sagging (this is mostly due to my thin base coat of Maybelline Great Lash, though, I think!) and most importantly it doesn't smudge or flake. I can't stand mascara that gradually falls off your lashes through the day, and I don't and never have had this problem with BAD gal lash in black. Note: The same cannot be said for BAD gal lash Plum, unfortunately!

The only con to this product is that it dries out relatively quickly compared to some other mascaras that I own, not overly fast, though. However, this does not render the mascara useless as it is quite manageable to work with the product when it becomes a little drier, you just need to apply an extra layer or work with it slightly longer.
Overall, the absolute best mascara I have ever used.
The price to purchase this mascara on its own is £16.50 from Boots. Quite pricey, but worth it.

The BAD gal liner waterproof let me down slightly as I like to wear pencil liner on my waterline, mostly. I put it on this morning on the waterline and also smudged some (with the handy smudger on the other end of the pencil) into my lash line. Unfortunately, for me, the liner didn't stay on too long on the waterline, however, after around 8 hours of wear, the liner I smudged onto my lash line has stayed put completely. The formula is mid range, not too hard, not too soft. Soft enough to easily apply to your eye without tugging at the skin to create a true black line. The product, again, is also very pigmented and a pure black.
Overall, not the best pencil eyeliner, however by far not the worst. I will definitely use this every day as a lash line liner, perhaps just not on the waterline. (I will stick to Urban Decay Zero eyeliner!)
The price to purchase this eyeliner on its own is £14.00 from Boots. I don't think I'd purchase again, but only because I prefer Urban Decay Zero, not because it is a bad eyeliner. In fact, I think it's pretty damn good, just not for the waterline.

Just for reference (and for the fact that I want to rave about this a little bit, too!) I'm wearing Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner in 02 True Black in the pictures above.

I got a new pot of this as a Christmas gift, too and this is honestly THE best cream/gel eyeliner I have ever used. The product is super creamy and easy to work with, lasts for hours and hours on the skin, lasts for months and months in the tub and is super black.
I honestly don't have a bad word to say about this product, apart from perhaps the crappy brush that comes with it, but that's beside the point. If you like your winged eyeliner and want to try something different to pencil or liquid liners, then you MUST try this. Must, must, must! It is one hundred times easier to apply than pencil or liquid (in my opinion) to create a perfect winged eyeliner look. If you've never used a cream liner, you're missing out.
I have and will buy this over and over and over again.
The price to buy this eyeliner is £13.50 from Boots. It is honestly worth every penny and it lasts for months upon months.

NB: Quick tip to keep your Clinique liner creamier for longer is to keep the lid tightly shut when not in use and when applying the eyeliner, load up your brush and turn the pot upside down on your work surface as to keep the air out of the container. If you need more product, re load your brush and turn the pot upside down again or replace the lid between picking up your product and applying it.

Hope you like my review. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
What's your favourite mascara or eyeliner? Let me know in the comments.

How to: Super sparkle festive nails & FOTD

Merry Christmas Eve! (nearly!)
You'd think I have too much time on my hands considering the number of times I've painted my nails this week, but here's another Christmassy nail tutorial - my personal favourite now after wearing it today!
Super sparkly nails are always the best!

Start by getting your sparkle ready. Here I'm using a sample of MAC pigment in "Reflects Transparent Teal" (left) and MAC pigment in "White Gold" (right). The pot on the left I bought online years ago and I think is the real deal, where as the pot on the right is definitely not real MAC Pigment. However, works nicely for this design. You can use any pigment or glitter you want, I just used this as its super sparkly and very finely milled.

Paint your nails with one coat of a pearly white nailvarnish. I used No 7 Speed Dry Nail Colour in Coconut Ice 05.

Leave to dry.

Now work on one nail at a time. Paint another layer of your pearly nail varnish on to your chosen nail. Tap some glitter/pigment onto the wet nail and tap off the excess.

I choose to work on top of an old magazine page so I can catch the glitter that I don't use and put it back in the pot when I'm finished. (I'll show you an easy way later.)

Here's what it looks like when you tap off the excess glitter.

If you find it easier or less messy, use a cotton bud to scoop up some glitter and place it at the top of your nail like so.

Then tip your nail over the glitter container and tap your finger. The glitter will fall down the nail, sticking to the wet polish and the excess will fall straight into the pot.

Repeat the process with the rest of your nails.

Ta da!

Ultra messy!

To gather up the overspill of pigment fold the paper you were working on in half and create a crease. Tip up the paper and the pigment will neatly slide back into it's container.

Here's the finished result. It's hard to capture the sparkle in pictures but at a glance the nails look white, but from different angles the glitter reflects blue, pink, purple and silver.

I finished with a sparkly top coat.

To get rid of the excess glitter that sticks to your fingers you just have to wait and go about your daily business. I washed my hands with soapy water, went to bed, got up in the morning and had a shower and washed my hair. The shampoo and head scrubbing removes all the unwanted glitter the best. :)

The photo above shows the nails freshly done and the first photo of this tutorial shows the nails after one day.

I thought I'd do a face of the day today too as my makeup went quite well.

I'm wearing Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation with a bit of Vichy Dermablend foundation used as concealer.
Filled in my eyebrows with Urban Decay Brow Box and ran through them with a brow brush.
On my eyelids I have Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin with UD Sin eyeshadow on top, UD Darkhorse in the crease and UD Buck to blend them together (all from the Urban Decay Naked Palette)

On the cheeks I have Rose Gold by Sleek and Harmony blush by MAC as a contour.
I used Revlon Colourstay Ultimate Lip Colour in Ultimate Orchid.
Mascara I used Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof to hold the curl and Collection 2000 Big Fake Lash over the top for a bit more volume.

Hope you enjoyed! Are you all excited for Christmas? I know I am!
