Should've Gone to Firmoo!

Hello everyone!
Eee, I'm so excited to share this post with you. I love getting parcels in the mail (who doesn't?) and the other day, these little beauties from Firmoo landed on my doorstep.

I was very, very kindly sent this pair of glasses to try out and to be honest I wasn't expecting them to arrive so fast, so it was a nice little surprise to come home to after staying away for Halloween for a couple of days.

From being dispatched from China to arriving at my door in good old North West England it only took bang on seven days. Speedy!

These are Model number #DBSN5252 in Matte Black and can be found HERE

Firmoo.com is a Global Online Optical Store which offers a massive range of glasses for both ladies and gents at really affordable prices. It also has a large range of sunglasses which, as well as the regular glasses, can be made with prescription lenses. Firmoo also have a designer range too, which are slightly more on the expensive side, but I'm definitely lusting over a few pairs in that section, let me tell you!

So, at my last appointment at the opticians I was told that, basically, my eyes don't align 100% accurately which is the why I sometimes get blurriness or double vision. I was actually quite excited about getting glasses until they told me that they would need to be 'special' prism lenses (think Professor from Futurama) to help fix this problem. Errrrm, no thanks! So I opted to keep up with some eye exercises on a promise that it "should" help in the long run.

Long story short. I'm bogeyed when I get stressed and I'll deal with it but in the mean time I'll wear pretend (none prescription) glasses til my heart's content. Just because!

So here they are and I actually really, really like them.

So, I  always find it really hard trying to fathom what pair will suit my face when I'm not able to actually try the frames on in person. One thing I found really helpful on the website was the nifty little feature that actually made it a lot easier for me to pick which frames I liked best. You can upload a picture of yourself, determine the distance between your eyes and click through the frames on the website to see how they actually look on your face! Virtual insanittyyyy.

These are the ones I chose, but in the Matte Black version. Excuse the frazzled look, I'd just got back from work in the picture that I used as my upload!

And here's how they actually look on. I think it's quite an accurate representation, what do you think?

I also "tried on" a number of other pairs which are similar styles, as you can see below.

I didn't see until quite late on (duh! Pass me my glasses) that a number of frames come in different colour variations, which you can view with the "Select Colour" option in the top right of the product spec page. Hence the reason I only "tried on" the green version of the frames that I actually ordered.

The glasses themselves are reasonably sturdy. The arms don't seem to bend outwards past the frames and give reasonable resistance to any attempts to do this. They seem very nicely made, no sharp edges or wobbly bits - which is always good!

The frame that I chose is a lovely Matte texture and feel almost furry to the touch, which I love. I thought it was also nice that they come with both a hard case, a soft pouch and a cloth for cleaning the lenses. As well as that, the glasses also came with a spare set of screws for the hinges and a little screwdriver for any mishaps. (Must. Not. Stand. On. Glasses!)

Strike a pose! ;)

They also fit very nicely. All the measurements for each frame is in the specifications so if you're a glasses wearer already, you can easily imagine how big or small the frames are going to be in comparison to your own. If you're not a glasses wearer, like me, just compare them to some of your sunglasses or make a paper template or draw it to scale with eyeliner on the mirror - that's always fun :)

Ordering is really simple if you're interested in getting yourself a pair of glasses. And what's even better is that if you order yourself a pair (first time buyer) you actually get the frames....FREE. Uh, what?!
FREEEEEEEEEE!

Everyone loves that word! There must be a catch, right? Well, you do have to pay shipping costs, but that's it.

THIS LINK explains exactly how you can order your first pair of free glasses. (If you're interested and do actually make an order, will you let me know?! I'd love to see which ones you chose.)

If you have any troubles at all, the Customer Service team are super fast at responding to any questions you may have. I exchanged a number of emails with Firmoo and my responses were always quick, friendly and informative. I even messaged them on facebook, to which they replied at lightning speed, too.

Happy Movember by they way, guys! I'm sporting my Mo' earrings in support for the cause!

Oh, and my lippy is "Chatterbox" by MAC.

So what you waiting for! Glasses wearers or frame fakers (like me!) get yourself over to Firmoo to check out their range.

Choose your glasses > Click First Pair Free - GET NOW > Log in > Place your order with the Promo Code issued to you!

If you have any other info you want to know, please leave a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hope you like the frames I chose and make sure you let me know if you order some for yourself, I'd love to have a nosey. :)

See you later Alligators!
xx

Just so you know, all opinions are my own. I was sent these glasses for review but was under no obligation to write a biased post at all. I really, really like um! :)

Halloween nails and OOTN! ;)

Oooo0oo0o0oohh! Hope you all had a spooky Halloween.
I thought I'd share a few pictures from my day, yesterday.

First off, I painted my nails with blood splatters. It's Shellac, which means I will be sporting it til way into November, but who cares. :) Gotta love a bit of gore.

I've also been obsessed with everything skull and everything sparkle at the minute...
This little guy was a rather dashing *not* belt buckle, but I saved him from going to the charity shop and he now sits on my bookshelf.

...I also bashed out my new AMAZING phonecase. Skull bling overload - perfect.

Then, myself and the other half made some Alien Spaghetti for our Halloween dinner. (Avocado Spaghetti recipe can be found HERE - yum yum!)

And on we went to meet a few friends. Can you guess which one I am...?

I had one too many Gin and Tonics and felt a bit squ-iff, as you can tell in the picture below.

Time to go home!

Trafford Haul and OOTD ft. Coca Cola & Carhartt!

Hi everyone! It's been a while... well, a few days. I feel like I haven't stopped all week! This is literally the first time I've sat down and had time to relax by myself in what seems like ages.

I wanted to show you what I wore today, and also wanted to share a few bits and pieces that I got on my friend and I's shopping trip to the Trafford Centre yesterday. I got some awesome things and I'm so excited, eeee!

Anyway, first off, here's my outfit of the day...

My bag, as pretty much always, is the Alexander Wang Rocco.

The "Drink Coca-Cola" tshirt I'm wearing is actually one of the first things I got from the Trafford Centre, I couldn't wait to wear it. I got it from River Island in the sale section for £10. It was actually still scanning at full price (£20) at the till, but it had a sale ticket on it so the girl took it down to the price it said for me. :)

The shirt, as you've probably seen before is from Zara.

My hat is from Carhartt. I'm really loving boy beanies at the moment. I curled my hair with a mix of GHD flat iron and my Jose Eber curling iron so my hair would get a bit of volume (for once in it's life!) Grr. Any tips/products for getting light, voluminous hair would be greatly appreciated!

Skinny jeans are the "Second Skin" jeans from Cheap Monday.

Shoes are from Converse and my watch is the Michael Kors silver and gold MK5137.

So now for the exciting bit! On to the haul....
No word of a lie, this is how much we came back with. Bank account zeroed, daren't look.

I'll have to get round to taking some good pictures of the clothing items I bought. I took some to put in this post but none of the pictures do the items any justice, so I thought I'd just show you some of the makeup and bitty bobs that I got for now.

First off, we went to the Shu Uemura counter at Selfridges because my friend wanted to repurchase a foundation that she'd first got in Hong Kong. While I was there I was eyeing up the Karl Lagerfeld collection and decided to pick up a pair of eyelash curlers. I currently use Shu Uemura eyelash curlers, and have done for years. My original pair has served me well, but I accidently lost one of the refil pads and have been surviving on buying cheap-ass curlers and using their pads in my curlers instead (why does noone sell the refils!?)

Anyway, it got to the point where my eyelashes were being bent in half rather than curled, so I thought it was time to repurchase. Cease the moment, and all that. These limited edition KL curlers are the same price as the originals but come with a cute dangly Mon Shu girl and red curling pads. SOLD.

We then turned round and found ourselves at the MAC counter. I knew I wanted a lippy, but didn't quite know which. After reading THIS post by The Tattooed Tea Lady the other day, I fell for the colour "Chatterbox" (the pinky one on the right of my picture) so grabbed that one straight away, but then saw the amazing "Up The Amp" which is a purply colour and that decided to come with me too. Deffo my new fave.

I also picked up one of my favourite MAC products ever, the trusty eyebrow pencil in the colour "Spiked". I first used this product a couple of years ago and never repurchased as I started using powder to fill in my eyebrows, however, for days where I can't be bothered finding, cleaning and using a brush to give my eyebrows some shape, I'm going to use this little baby.

Died a little inside when I got to the counter and they told me the price. Y SO EXPENSIV? But it's okay, it's nearly my birthday....*ahem*

Speaking of nearly my birthday - how many times can I use that excuse? - I may have accidently bought something AMAZING. But obviously as it's a "surprise" I can't let the cat out of the bag, can I?
Here's a sneaky peak....whatever could it be?!

Teehee!

Anyway, that's all I'm showing you for now from the Trafford Haul. If you're interested I will show you the clothing items soon, but I just wanted to share one last bargain before I go. I went into Superdrug today to stock up on some Batiste Dry Shampoo (despise paying the price but NEED dry shampoo in my life) when I came across this ammmmmazing deal.

Buy one...get TWO free.

It's not Batiste, but for that price, who really cares? How different can dry shampoos be, anyway? It's the Superdrug's own brand dry shampoo, so I decided to buy two (at £1.99 each for 150ml) which meant I got FOUR for free. Bargs of the century, right? I just grabbed every scent - except the chocolate as I don't want to be going round smelling like a Mars bar - so I can see which ones I like.
They all smell pretty nice, to be honest. I think my favourite are the purple and green ones, which is a bummer as those are the ones I only picked up one of!

Eep! Slap me on my wrist RIGHT NOW!

Happy (not yet my) Birthday to me! Love from me.

Such a sucker. I sell some bits and bobs on ebay and then accidently buy myself a new bag with the proceeds....EVERY TIME! Please tell me this happens to other people and not just me. I just can't help myself.

Anyway I will be saving this for my birthday...(maybe..) as to not make myself feel so guilty.

*Drumroll please*

Introducing my new "Eugene" bag by Alexander Wang in Feather Grey.
So exciteddddd!

Okay, okay, I know that a light bag for winter is probably not the best idea, but loooooook at it. I saw it and just fell in love. And my boyfriend approved, too, which is a feat in itself.

What do you guys think? I'm thinking of teaming it with simple all black outfits and maybe a big fluffy coat - when it's not raining, anyway!

Weeeee!

Jewellery by So..!Kitsch

So in my last outfit post I featured some yummy hand made jewellery by a friend of mine. She kindly sent me some goodies for me to feature on here for you all!

So..!Kitsch Jewellery is run by a lovely lady called Clair who hand makes loads of funky, fun jewellery. My two pieces that I got are these good enough to eat M&M earrings and quirky scrabble piece ring (with N for Neeny of course!)

She sent me them in some cutesy wrappers so the jewellery wouldn't get damaged in transit.

So here's the Scrabble ring. Isn't it a beaut? The ring itself is adjustable so is suitable for pretty much any finger size. Of course I picked the letter N for my name, but obviously you can get any letter you like. Maybe even get a few and spell something out! ;)

The ring is sturdy and comfortable and is very well made. Looks just like a scrabble tile and would make a really cute, personalised gift, I think.

As you can see, the ring isn't too overpowering on the hand. It's a good size and is really light to wear. Goes with pretty much anything as it's a neutral colour, too. The ring retails at just £4! All order details will be below if you want to have a look around her site.

I wore mine for the first time yesterday with just my watch on one arm and stacked bracelets on the other. Clair also stocks loads of arm candy including the Kitsch Bracelet (£9) which you can hang various charms on of your choice...they would look so good together :)

I also got the M&M earrings which are so cool. These are available in so many different colours, it's untrue. I think pretty much every colour of the rainbow, so the world is your oyster when coming to pick which ones you want.
I couldn't choose so Clair surprised me with the red ones :)

Again, as with the ring, the earrings are very light and comfortable. They do not weigh your ear down at all. They have a standard length and size earring post with a butterfly type stopper on the back which is very sturdy.

Here's what they look like on :)

These retail at £4 a pair, too.

So, here's how you can have a mooch around So..Kitsch!
