Showzam Razzle Dazzle 1920's Ball

Here's a few photos from last weekend when we attended a themed Ball in Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

1920's theme was fun to re-create.

Everything is from Charity Shops aside from my faux fur stole which is from Topshop and D's shoes which are from TKMAXX.

 For my makeup I followed this tutorial by Pixiwoo on YouTube.

And here's how it turned out.

Not the most flattering, but definitely 1920's-esque.

(Excuse my dressing gown!)

We watched the show from the upper tiers which induced a lot of belly flutters as it was so high and so steep.

We got an invitation to another dance for being well dressed.

OOTD - 17/02/13

Just a quick outfit of the day from the other day. Nothing special, I was simply trying out my new camera remote app which allows me to take a photo with my camera from my iphone.

This is why I have my phone in my hand in every photo, haha.

Perfect LBD!

I nipped to Preston the other day and couldn't help but browse the Topshop sale. I nearly died on the spot when I saw what was hanging out there...last one in my size.

I've been lusting after this dress for absolutely ages. I didn't want to pay full price for it (£65) so waited. It went into the sale a good while ago but by the time I spotted it, all of my sizes had been sold in my local store and online. 

I can't believe I found it, yay!

It has been reduced to £40, but with my discount I only paid £30. Bargs!

It could be a possible contender for my brother's wedding - with a coloured ribbon around the waist, perhaps, or a bright chunky necklace and shoes?

Who knows.

There's also a skirt version in the same fabric on the Last Chance To Buy rail in my local Topshop and I'm sorely tempted to go at try it on. I love the embroidered flowers on it as it makes it a little more feminine...but it's black. Perfect.

Today we went on a mission to find some vintage shoes for the bf to wear with his costume for the ball. Unsuccessful, we decided to take a wander down to the sea and then had a chip butty in the car before driving back home.

OOTD - 09/02/13

Here's what I wore for a trip shopping with my friend. This was in the day before we went out for her birthday in the evening (see my other blogpost for what I wore in the evening!)

I kept it simple and didn't put a lot of makeup on because I'd only be taking it off and re-applying later on in the evening.

Razzle-dazzle 'em!

I'm going to be going to a 1920's theme Carnival Ball this weekend with a few friends. I got my tickets today and quickly tried out 20's eyebrows and lips.

Going to have to watch a fair few youtube tutorials on how to achieve the perfect flapper hair and makeup, I think!

Any tips?
