Project "Use-Up-All-The-Crap-I-Have-Before-Buying-Any-More!"

Welcome to my new project.
I named it..
Project "Use-Up-All-The-Crap-I-Have-Before-Buying-Any-More!"

I have piles of unused cosmetics sitting round my room ranging from makeup, hair spray, face wash, cleansers, dry shampoos, leave in conditioners and more. It's getting to the point where I just look at it and think, maybe I should use these up before going to the shop and buying another product that does exactly the same thing.

So that's what I've decided to do. I'm going to try and get down to one product per need...because, let's face it, I don't need three dry shampoos, three hairsprays, countless concealers and mascaras, numerous face washes and cleansers and god knows what else stashed away in my drawers.

These are a few of the items I'm going to be actively using to use them up and de-clog my room. (I can't just throw them away! That's just out of the question!)

This is what's on my list so far...are you sitting comfortably?:

Weeeeeouw, that's a lot! Going through it like that and seeing how much product I've actually used and how many I've bought makes it even worse. Definitely going to try and use up some of my stash in the next few months, perhaps even re-discover some of my beauty must-haves.

Wish me luck! I've tried this before, last year or so, and did manage to use some stuff up, so anyone who wants to join me in this project then good luck to you, too! (Not doubting for a second that any of you are makeup hoarders like me!)

See you soon!
x

  1. Great idea! I tried to do something similar before moving to the states because I still had a load of products from my university days when I had double amount [home and university supplies]. Feels good watching your pile vanishing!

    1. Great idea in theory...but in practice? Who knows. I'll probably be walking round with inch thick makeup and hair trying to use up the products haha x

  2. Hello, new follower =)
Oh dear, I am just the same! I'd hate to put it all out like this and make a list, but maybe I should! Good luck =D x

    1. Hello! Thanks for checking out my blog!
Honestly, putting it all down in black and white has made me feel so bad for hoarding so much! Definitely going to have to use up at least 10 of these as soon as I can to make me feel slightly better haha x

    1. Haha, join me in my attempt to rid our overflowing rooms of excess cosmetics that we don't need! x

  4. This is a brilliant idea, I'm trying a Project Pan 10 at the moment so know how difficult it is! This seems a better idea though as you kind of have an idea of what you're getting rid of rather than just waiting to see which 10 products you can use first ahah xxx

    1. I tried Project 10 Pan last year (later decided 5 pan would be more suitable) But never got round to carrying it out! I got rid of a few easy ones like face wash and shower stuff etc, but found makeup really hard to use up haha!
I think you should definitely set a list for yourself. If not only to guilt trip yourself into doing something about the horrendous amount of crap we tend to accumulate haha x

  5. What do you think of that Tigi Leave in Conditioner? I have it and I don't know if I am applying it right or what... but it does not make my hair feel soft & nice :/

    1. To be honest, I don't know if I'm doing it right either as there are no instructions on the bottle! (Hence why I haven't used it a lot!!) I just apply a small amount to towel dry hair and then blow dry and style as normal (Taking the instructions from my Toni & Guy Leave In conditioner bottle!!). I haven't used it all that much but to be honest from the times I have used it, it only makes a slight difference, nothing clearly noticeable! x
