Sunday Craving: H&M, Proenza Schouler & Jeffrey Campbell

Chunky Sandals

Hi guys, I'd like to introduce you to my latest purchase...

So a lot of you may be cringing at the sight of these (socks and sandals, anyone?) but I have a feeling some of you may love them just as much as I do.
I've been lusting over them for absolutely ages since seeing the Aldo version on youtuber, TaniaTells.  Unfortunately, the Aldo Wanette sandal is sold out. When I see something I want, though...I go on a frantic search to get my hands on it, and this time I bagged myself a massive bargain.
After scouring the internet with google searches of, 'chunky sandal, chunky fisherman sandal, chunky jelly sandal, leather jelly sandal, chunky gladiator sandal' I finally came across these beauties from the one and only New Look.
I'm never one to shop in New Look, typically, but after finding these and comparing them to the Aldo versions (which retail at around £80 may I add) I snapped them up in an instant because they're practically identical. Best of all, the New Look version cost less than half the price at £39.99!
YAAAY

The haul that was meant to be!

Hi guys, just a quick post to show you a couple of bits that I've picked up for myself. I've had a few days off work with the bf, and today he had to go back to work so I was on my own. And what do I do best? Shop, shop, shop!

It was sunny again so I wore my fluoro Cambridge Satchel.
Tshirt from Zara. Levis jeans.
Nike Free Run 2.

Same jewellery and nails as my previous post.

And here's what I picked up!
My new phone case arrived today and I love it, little pooch. :)

Now, this is called the haul that was meant to be because, simply, everything I went in for, I found...and most things I picked up were the last ones in the shop.

From H&M I grabbed this silver chain necklace and simple band rings.
I also bought a couple of packs of cross earrings from Primark, since they were only a pound.

I went into Primark especially for these sandals. I saw two pairs hanging on the bottom rail of all the other sandals, one was a size 8 and the others didn't have a size tag on...and this never happens to be but lo and behold they were in my size! Hurrayyy!

I'm also embracing the sports-luxe trend and saw a navy, red and white part mesh tshirt which I picked up originally, wishing dearly that it would be in plain black instead. Lo and behold AGAIN, I walk round the rack and find this little beauty...

I then went to have a cheeky peek in TKMaxx and saw these neon nail polishes. At £3.99 for four, I thought they were a bit of a bargain and since I've been looking for a fluoro yellow for yonks, I decided to give them a go.

I've also been wanting some Superga pumps for ages. Ideally I'd have a plain white/black pair, but I saw these in my size and grabbed them straight away. I'm still not sure if I can pull them off, so they may be going back, what do you think?

Hope you're all well!

OOTD WIWT - Fluoro Satchel and Nike Free Run - 14 April 2013

Here's what I wore today. Can't believe I stood in the pouring rain to take pictures before I went out. Dedication/stupidity, I'm not quite sure?

American Apparel Easy Jean

Dorothy Perkins Faux Leather Jacket

Warehouse Knit Snood
Topshop Knit Jumper

Cambridge Satchel Company Fluoro Yellow 13" Satchel

Nike iD Free Run 2 Trainers (oh my, SO comfortable!)

I nipped into town to try and find a birthday present for a friend. Unsuccessful on the present front, however, I walked past this little beauty in River Island and fell in love.

It comes up a little large if you want to wear it on your waist like I want to. I had to down a size to a size 6?!!? Never in this world am I a size 6, so I would definitely recommend trying on or sizing down if you decide to buy online.

Side note: How flattering are River Island mirrors? Or is it just me? I swear they have some distortion on them to make you look tall and skinny - and the lighting makes you look tanned as feuuuk. Maybe it's just my local one, but no other mirrors in town reflect the same image back to me as the River Island ones haha!

Nike Free Run+ 2 Wishlist

So I've been procrastinating. I don't want to tidy my room so I decided to have a bit of an online window shop. I found myself playing around on the Nike iD website and accidentally designed a pair of beautiful trainers that I now need in my life.
What do you think?

I know, I know...black and white everything, I can't help it.

Crossing my fingers that the Nike Fairies will magic them to me, just because.

Think I'll be wishing for a long time to come!

Must get some more stuff sold on ebay....

Ooooops!

Hummana!

Design your own Nike trainers HERE
So fun :)

A studded shoe for every occasion!

Be forewarned, if you don't like studs or shoes...or studs on shoes, this blog post may not be for you! ;)

Clous Sandal by Sonia Rykiel

Hawk Spike by Jeffrey Campbell

Spike Boot by Dr Martens

Spiked Lita by Jeffrey Campbell

Hellraiser by UNIF

The Sonia Rykiel Clous studded leather sandals are my newest spiked babies. They run true to size and the leather is super duper soft and kind to feet. Absolutely no grip on the soles though, may need scuffing up a bit for less slippage. Great for summer days or dinner out.

Comfort: 4/5 on first impressions.
Sizing: True to size.
Stud type: Small conical.
Durability: Not yet tested, however they seem like a 4/5 on first impressions.

The Jeffrey Campbell Hawk Spike slip ons are lethal weapons. I used to think my UNIF Hellraisers were sharp but, my God, these spikes can do some serious damage. They run a little large but I wouldn't recommend downsizing because they are wide more than anything. I just use a Scholl heel grip and an insole to keep them snug. They're a bit sore for the first few wears but comfortable when they're broken in. Great for casual, grungy looks - just try not to gouge your ankles when you walk.

Comfort: 3/5
Sizing: True to size but quite wide.
Stud type: Razor sharp tall conical and small conical mix.
Durability: 3/5 - taller studs could be susceptible to damage.

The Spike Boot by Dr Martens were a Christmas gift this year. SO tight when you first put them on but persist - mine have loosened up wonderfully after a few wears. Goes without saying that they're very uncomfortable until broken in, but gradually becoming more and more comfortable with each time I wear them. Absolutely fantastic for winter days and could be good for gigs so you can boot people in the shins if they push you too hard. ;)

Comfort: 1/5 on first try. 4/5 when worn in.
Sizing: True to size, tight across the bridge of the foot until leather loosens.
Stud type: Small conical.
Durability: 5/5 - Studs seem extremely durable and secure.

The Jeffrey Campbell Spiked Litas are a classic. Super comfortable and give you height. True to size, but could be slightly too narrow at the toe for the wider footed ladies. Another lethal weapon along with the Hawk Spikes, but not AS sharp. Good for self defence on the dance floor from drunken men. Again, an ankle gouger if you're not careful.

Comfort: 4/5
Sizing: True to size but relatively narrow at the toe.
Stud type: Small conical and tall conical mix.
Durability: 3/5 similar to the Hawk Spike - taller studs may be susceptible to damage.

The UNIF Hellraiser flats are the more delicate (?!really?!) version of the Hawk Spikes. I'm tempted to describe them as more 'girly' than the others, but I still think that would be an oxymoron. Girly Hellraisers. Anyway, they're true to size. Super comfortable, I suffered just minimal rubbing on the top of my foot for the first few wears but they quickly became one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. Be careful - I managed to dislodge my first spike by catching my toe on a shopping trolley so they definitely are more delicate than the other spiked shoes I own. Great for wearing with dresses as they're more flattering on the foot than the Hawks.

Comfort: 5/5
Sizing: True to size.
Stud type: Meduim conical.
Durability: 2/5 - Least secure of all the shoes. They've done well but due care is needed when wearing as I managed to dislodge a spike more easily than I thought.

I hope you liked this post.
I effing love studs! Can you tell!
:)
Lots of love,
Neeny

What I got for Christmas!

Hi guys, I wanted to share with you a few bits I got for Christmas! I love reading these types of posts, so thought I'd do my own.

Firstly, look at this amazing blankie. My mum made it for me. Yes, she crocheted it with her own fair hands! How snuggly. :)

Next, as you saw in my last post, are these bad boys. They are the Dr Marten Spike boot and they're absolutely amazing. Painful, but amazing.

Another item you've seen already is this bag. I featured it in my last post, too.

From my boyfriend I got these babies. They're the Dr Martens Drench boot and they're actually wellington boots! So good for walking to work in when it's raining! These ones are much comfier than the Spikes.

From my boyfriend's mum I got the mini version of my favourite perfume. I recently repurchased the large size for myself because I adore the smell and I hadn't owned it for quite a while. The small version is ideal for putting in my handbag whilst the large bottle sits on my bedside table.

It's Euphoria by Calvin Klein. Go smell it if you haven't already...it's divine.

A little something for myself was this tin of lipsmackers. I am a lip balm obsessive and thought these would come in handy. I've not tried them all yet, but I love the Sprite.

From my friend I got the most awesome socks in the whole entire world... LOOK! Puddy tats!

For a couple of my friends I bought the new Naked palette by Urban Decay. It's called the NAKED BASICS and features six matte shades. I obviously had to pick one up for myself as the Naked palettes are my most favourite eyeshadows ever.

My lovely friend got me a Bronzer from MAC. The perfect gift because I'd literally JUST used up the last drops of my Nars Laguna bronzer and have been wanting to try this one out for absolutely ages. It's in the colour Matte Bronze.

From the same friend who got me the awesome socks, I also received an equally awesome scarf. SKULL EVERYTHING!!! She got both the scarf and socks from Topshop, if you're interested!

And finally, I got this gorgeous midi skirt from Topshop. I've been wanting something Galaxy print for evvver and saw this at my local Topshop on the 'Last Chance To Buy' rail. I've yet to wear it as I've been at work constantly, but I can't wait to. Not sure what to pair it with yet but I'll be sure to do an outfit post soon.

And that's everything pretty much, aside from a few bits and bobs and an enormous amount of chocolate and sweets.

So grateful for all of my gifts, thank you to you if you're reading this!

If you've done a post like this showing what you received for Christmas, leave a link in the comments. I'd love to have a sneaky peek!
