O.O.T.D ft. Outer Conch piercing!

Here's a quick post on what I wore to a casual housewarming party last night.

I wanted to be comfy so basic leggings and shirt did me proud!

Sorry for the dodgy lighting, it was early evening, the light was changing and outside it was thunder and lightening!

I got my navy leggings from Topshop.

Studded pocket check shirt from Zara.

My kitty wanted to help. He's a Chocolate Point Burmese if anyone's wondering!

Put my hair up because I just can't be bothered with it down and around my face at the moment!

I also dug out some gold jewellery to match the gold studs on my shirt.
The name necklace was a gift from my boyfriend about 3 years ago. You can get them on ebay or etsy though, I'm sure.
The studded bracelet is from Topshop sale.

I know they don't match but I was only wearing these boots for the journey there. I didn't want to traipse around the new house in boots so they came off at the door.
They are just the classic short ugg boot in black. I got mine from ASOS but you can get them everywhere.

Here's a close up of smelly cat.

Also this is my new piercing. I went in to my piercing place to order some shorter bars for my other ear and to get my conch bar shortened...and came out with this.

I'm calling in an Outer Conch piercing. I'm not really sure if it has a name, my piercing guy called it a Conch, so that's what it shall be named. I like it because it's pretty unusual and a bit different from a regular cartilage/helix piercing.

I had one of the most uncomfortable night sleep though. Who'dve thought you put all of the pressure on the top of your ear when you're sleeping...pretty obvious!

A quick trim and another new piercing!

So I went to the hairdressers today for a quick hair cut. I originally was going to go and get my hair coloured but decided against it at the last minute so just went to have it neatened up with a few more layers. I'm in the process of growing it out so there's not much difference!

After:

My hairdresser tried with all his might for about half an hour of blowdrying, different products, scrunching and all sorts to try and get some body and oomphy waves into my hair but this is what it ended up like. My hair is impossible to make wavy! :(

While I was in town I psyched myself up to go and get another piercing. I've never had one done on my own as my boyf is always there to hold my hand when I've been in the past but I decided to be brave and go by myself. I went in and my piercer was free to do my tragus so he brought me in straight away so I was buzzing, he put some cream on my ear and then told me to go and wait for an hour for it to sink in! I'd just psyched myself up for nothing and had an hour to stew on the fact that I was going to get a needle shoved in my ear. Regardless, I waited and came back, very nervous...but I literally didn't feel a thing. The least painful piercing I've ever had, not even a word of a lie. Yay!

O.O.T.D. 27/02/12

Hi peeps. Here's a quick outfit of the day today... or should I say outfit of the morning as I'm now currently sat in my pyjamas again curled up under my blanket.
I went for a quick meeting with a friend to talk about my artwork (or lack of) and perhaps an upcoming exhibition. After that, I went for a quick dash around town to see if the Real Techniques makeup brushes are available in my local Boots yet but alas, they weren't. Which is probably a good thing because I'd be tempted to buy them all.
I also went and cancelled my hair appointment for this week. *sigh* I couldn't make up my mind how I wanted it dyed so I'm just going to go and get a quick trim and perhaps try dying it myself in the future. I didn't want to spend all that money for it to turn out not how I wanted it...however that might be. Another reason I cancelled is because I accidently bought two naughty things yesterday and thought I'd best consider saving the rest of my wage so it actually last more than one week in my bank account haha! I will show you what I bought when they arrive this week sometime!

Anyway, here's what I wore to run my errands. Simple and comfortable.

Faux fur green coat is from Topshop sale.

Slouchy top is from Topshop. Is still available in stores (my store, at least) but its now sold out online.
Skinny jeans from Topshop years ago.

Bag from Cambridge Satchel Company 11"

Shoes by Converse.

Beaded bracelet is a random from BHS or Dorothy Perkins or somewhere.
Leather double wrap bracelet and Buddha charm from Pandora.
Studded braceleet by Sam Ubhi.
Watch by DKNY.

My cupcake nails seem to be holding up well!

Cross earrings from Topshop.

See you soon, guys! x

O.O.T.D 18/12/11 & Paddington wellies

Today I spent Christmas shopping an wrapping up presents. Not in the slightest in a Christmassy mood, though.
It looked pretty sunny outside today, but I knew it was going to be crisp, so I wore layers.

This crochet dress is from Topshop and I added a black belt from Primark. Plain black tights (and lace trimmed cycling shorts which you can't really see) worn under the dress for warmth.

On top I added my crochet scarf from H&M (this is the one that inspired my mum to crochet her own - see here)

The leather jacket is from Oasis and I'm using my Cambridge Satchel.

The boots I'm wearing are called 'Spinners' by Carvela.

Limited jewellery today as I find it annoying when it's cold out and I'm wearing gloves and scarves etc. So I just popped in some apple studs from BHS.

Naked Palette (as always) for my eyeshadow and Benefit Benetint on my cheeks.

Look what I picked up in town today, I saw them in TK MAXX and couldn't resist. I thought they looked like Paddington wellies, but come home to google images and realised that he has red wellies! Anyway, I still love them!

Also on a completely random note, I'm obsessing slightly over getting my septum pierced - even though I have a massive honker and my parents would kill me.

Inner Helix Piercing

So I decided to get another piercing since my last two cartilage piercings had to be taken out (boohoo!) I originally saw this picture on tumblr.

How purrrdy! Total copy cat decided to get one of potentially three. Who knows if I'll get the other two. Healing time is a pain, however this one is so much more comfortable than my previous cartilage piercings as is less prone to knocking on things. It's suprising how often you bash your ears in a single day. Sleeping, washing your face, washing your hair, combing your hair, drying your hair, putting on and taking off clothing, leaning on your hand, cuddling, shaving your armpits, lifting things, God knows what else. Everything, it seemed like!
Anyway, this one is quite comfortable at the moment. The pain was worse than previous lobe and cartilage piercings but nothing major. I squeezed my other half's hand and squeaked, "Aaahhwch", and that's about it. Done!

This picture was taken the same day as I had it pierced. Didn't swell too much, just seemed a bit bruised more than anything the next day. I was recommended to clean twice a day with saline solution and I also sleep with a padded plaster over my ear to avoid snagging on anything in the night. I'll keep you updated of its progress if you're interested!

You can kind of see where my old cartilage piercing had to be taken out, a small red dot above my second lobe piercing, the same distance apart as the other two.

What piercings do you have? Do you have any planned?
